Twitter is not a social-networking site for self-promoting airheads who want some virtual love because they showed you their holiday pictures. You are thinking of Facebook.
And Twitter is not a cunning plot to destroy the English language by dragging us all into institutionalised illiteracy. Don’t make me LMAO or even ROFL, U R thinking of text messages LOL.
Hating Twitter is like hating the carrier pigeon. Or the tribal drums. Or the fax machine, or e-mail, or whatever device for sharing information comes next. Twitter is simply how millions on this little blue planet choose to communicate at this moment in human history. Somebody called Twitter the dial tone to the modern world, meaning that Twitter is not the last word in communication, but merely a new beginning. Refusing to tweet in 2011 is like taking a vow of silence in the modern world.
